Costa Rica – Day 5 – Double Up!

Posted on September 11, 2017

Today was quite the adventure. I walked 2 miles in total. (Double of my walk yesterday.) It was a Sunday and the weather was perfect. As you can see in my photos, my cheeks are a little chubbier than they were last year. Over the last few months, I've gone through a tremendous amount of stress, and it has effected my sleep, and it wasn't long until I realized that everything was fitting a bit tighter. I haven't gained weight in years, so it ...

Costa Rica – Day 4 – Let’s Get Healthy!

Posted on September 11, 2017

Today I walked 1-mile round trip. Hey, don't laugh! That's about a mile more than I usually walk. The grocery store (Pali) is about half a mile away, and I wanted to grab a couple of things for the house because I knew it was going to be a rainy weekend. There is an AM/PM convenience store that's closer, but it's much smaller and has less options. And hey, I actually do enjoy walking. On the way there, I had a liter of Orange / Carrot ...

Costa Rica – Day 3 – Reunion

Posted on September 11, 2017

Today I slept in. The week is flying by. It takes much longer to do things when the internet is up and down. I designed a new poster for a restaurant, checked emails, checked out social media hysteria about hurricanes, and of course, I processed orders and did online support for ReleaseMyCode.com customers as I do daily. It quickly became Friday evening, so I enjoyed Otero’s Pizza with friends, and even ventured out to see their home and ...

Costa Rica – Day 2 – Rough Start

Posted on September 11, 2017

Today I ventured out to a Movistar store in order to get 4G LTE internet on my phone. Ironically, I did most of the work. I just needed someone to translate. This one little task ended up taking a good part of my day. Once I unlocked my phone, I installed the MoviStar app in order to activate a new SIM. But my email address was tied to my old number from a year ago. The square by the national theatre of Costa Rica includes McDonald's, ...

Costa Rica – Day 1 – A New Journey

Posted on September 11, 2017

Day 1: I was anxious, so I only had about 2 hours of sleep. I arrived at the airport in Killeen, Texas about 9:20 AM CST. The flight to Dallas left about 10:30 AM and was only about 45 minutes from takeoff. Side thought: Isn't it odd how we fly north, in order to fly south? I'm surprised that the direct flights to San Jose, Costa Rica didn't come from Austin. The in-flight movie, Pirates of the Caribbean - Dead Men Tell No Tales, ...

What’s stopping you?

Posted on March 15, 2015

At one point in my life, I was too big to sit comfortable on an airplane. Believe me, nobody was comfortable around me. Now that I've lost 200lbs, I've gone snorkeling in the Cayman Islands and kissed a stingray. I've gone Skiing in Colorado, and experienced so much more that life has to offer. So ...

Your WordPress websites are being hacked. Mine were too.

Posted on January 3, 2015

Over 100,000 Wordpress websites have recently been hacked. Most likely yours are being attacked right now. But let me tell you… About a year ago, one of my biggest websites was put out of business for 2 and a half days. It was bad. It effected online sales, retail sales, customer service, emails,... everything. Why? We didn’t have an emergency plan in place. We assumed that since service had been good for so long, that everything ...
