Lose 200lbs in 1 Year? Yes it CAN be done!

Yes, with over 20lbs lost in one month, THE TONY DIET is back on!

Over the last few weeks a transformation has been going on in my life.  I’ve been quite about it because I didn’t want to publicly repeat another failure.  You see, earlier this year I got all excited because with a major life and career change I decided that it was the best time to stop everything and work on my diet.

I had some immediate success due to some Advocare detox supplements that were given to me by a friend.  I dropped about 10 lbs quickly over a week or two.

The problem was that this wasn’t a true lifestyle change.  Yes, I started to eat better, and due to my career change I now had more opportunities to eat better and on a regular schedule.  But I quickly gained it back because a lifestyle transformation had not really happened as yet.

Until now.

I had heard about this new weight loss program that involves HCG (the HCG hormone) from friends and family.  Casual encounters showed that there was obviously growing popularity and talk about this weight lost treatment.  I was hearing about it from family members who encountered friends who were on it.  I heard about it at work.  Nobody had actually done it, but people were hearing about others that were on this strange new diet system.

And then it hit me.  HCG!  A friend and former employee of mine from several years back mentioned that he was working at HCG Medical in one of my “how’s things going” phone calls from a year or so back.   Once I came to this realization I immediately called up and left him a voice mail… “Hey this is Tony… I’m suddenly hearing about all of this HCG stuff and it occurred to me that that’s exactly what you’re doing.  If it’s so good then why haven’t you called me about this?  Don’t you realize that I’m at least 200 lbs overweight!  It’s like having a Christian friend never telling you about Jesus!”

Wow, so as you can see I was a bit extreme, but serious too.  He quickly called me back the next day and long-story-short, I’m now on the program.

However…

It’s not so easy.  You see it’s not just about taking a pill or a shot and your life miraculously changes.  This is a true lifestyle transformation.

Over the last month, I’ve been on a “detox” treatment which isn’t as severe as the Advocare one, but still effective.  Likewise, I’m now on a no-carb and no-sugar diet.  Now THIS is the hard part.  When you take out rice, noodles, and bread, it seems like you eliminate practically every fast food option out there.   I’ve found a few things that still work.  But when I’m hungry, I can’t go anywhere and grab just anything anymore.

I’ve got to tell you this.  The No-Carb/No-Sugar diet IS working.  In just a month, I’ve lost 20.5 lbs.  That includes 2 weeks of being carb and sugar free.  Why only 2 weeks?  Well, I didn’t read all the directions the first couple of weeks! Whoops!  I definitely would have lost more if I had been on the No-Carb/No-Sugar diet from day 1.

Oh and by the way… I haven’t even started the HCG treatment yet!

After my first few days on the diet, I really had and have no cravings for pasta, chocolate, etc.  The diet is actually pretty easy, as I’m not nearly as hungry.  The real struggle is finding a variety in things that I can eat.  You see, I haven’t cooked at home on a regular basis in at least 7 years, and even then I wasn’t cooking right.  So I have to be creative.

  • At Taco Bueno, I eat the Chicken Salad (abandon the friend shell bowl.)  You can ask for double-lettuce and have all of the pico, hot peppers and salsa that you want.
  • At Ron’s Hamburger & Chili, I have the Chili with hot peppers and without beans and a side of cottage cheese.
  • At Subway, I can have any sandwich turned into a salad, and then no dressing, just vinegar, no oil, you can’t taste the oil anyway.
  • At Carl’s JR, I order the Low-Carb Burger, no onions.  Keep in mind that this is 570 calories.
  • At Captain D’s, I’ve ordered just a piece of grilled white fish and some shrimp scampi (less the butter)
  • At Pei Wei’s they have a great Chicken Wrap and Spicy Chicken Salad
  • At Big Daddy BBQ I’ve ordered just meat… no beans, no bread and no sides.
  • At all meals replace Pop and Diet Soda with unsweetened Iced Tea or Water with a splash of Lemon.  Only use Stevia as a sweetener, if any.

That’s another thing.  Once you’re off “sugar” you don’t really crave sweet drinks or foods anymore.

If you know of other quick places to get “on-the-go” No-Carb/No-Sugar foods in Tulsa, Owasso, or Skiatook then please let me know.

I invite you to subscribe to my feed, subscribe to my Twitter, or follow me on Facebook.  This is going to be a long journey.  Remember, I haven’t even started the HCG treatment yet.  I will be starting that once I go back to the doctor for the blood analysis and such.

I’m going to Dr. William Shuler at Looks Beauty and Wellness.  This is located next to Gold’s Gym at about 66th and Memorial.  If you go, please tell them you read about “THE TONY DIET” or Tony Darrick Baker.  I was introduced to him through HCG Medical which is also based in Tulsa, Oklahoma.

Oh and here’s something important that you should know.  I’ve heard about several other places that have “once a week shots” and other stuff.  I’m not trying to be biased here, but usually no doctor is involved and you should know that HCG only stays in your system for 3 days.   Ask yourself this. Do you really want to risk dropping 20 lbs to 40lbs in a month without doctor supervision?  Your body is a complicated system and you’ve got to be careful!

And here’s them most important part.  I’m on a no-carb/no-sugar diet right now.  Once I start the HCG treatment, I’m going to be on a 500 calorie a day diet.  Now this is going to be tough, but there is a ton of food you can eat and still stay under 500 calories.  I don’t really think it’s going to be much tougher than what I’m doing now.  I’d say I’m at or under 1200 calories a day right now.  After 40 days of HCG I return to the 1200 calorie no-carb/no-sugar diet for 21 days.  And then we start again with the HCG.

The point is… this is a true lifestyle change.  In order to lose 200 lbs in one year, I’m going to be on this diet for a long time.  And, that means I’ll be eating more healthy, very likely for the rest of my life.  After all, I don’t want to gain it back!

If you don’t have doctor’s supervision and a true lifestyle change… then the HCG will likely just be another failed diet for you.  So choose wisely before venturing out into this territory.  There are a lot of people out there that will just take your money and smile.  I don’t get that with Dr. Shuler and Looks Beauty and Wellness.  These guys and the staff at HCG medical are all on MY TEAM and they want me to succeed now and forever.  It’s a truly special feeling.

Also know that when I say “no-carb,” I mean that I’m avoiding all major foods that contain carbohydrates.  In reality this is a low-carb diet.  There are a variety of carbs in plants.

This is not one of those diets where you can eat a ton of bacon and high fatty foods just because it’s not a carb food.  Calories still matter!

Anyway, I’ll be writing more about this, about food depression, about not being as sleepy throughout the day, and so much more in coming weeks, so stay tuned and please feel free to comment on my blog at:  http://tonydbaker.com

It is interesting to hear a blog reference local restaurants like Ron\’s or Big Daddy\’s for diet options. Will be keeping tabs to see how the HCG goes.

    Tony,
Congratulations on the weight loss. It will make life so much more enjoyable. Weight management is not as much cutting out calories as putting the right sort of nutrition into the body. If you pour in high grade nutrition, you can basically eat whenever you want. I had to lose weight to get my life back. Good luck. Danny Sidders. Bixby, Oklahoma.

Supplements that include a growth hormone or a supplement that stimulates our own growth hormone production I think is a good way to go for people trying to lose weight as testing has shown many benefits of using these.

Amazing results. Often times though, a simple diet of a lot of fiber and foods with all the proper nutrients + a good multivitamin is a good way to correct metabolism and reduce cravings. Also the key here is to stay focused and do not give way to cravings or the feeling of quitting. Proud of you..

    Thank you,

    Cindy
