The Tony Diet

pavilionWell I just got back from the heart clinic.  I took advantage of the Hillcreast Heart Pavilion open house today in Tulsa.  They did free screenings and had a good deal of free advice.  There must have been at least a few hundred people there in the couple of hours that I was there.

It’s good to get checked out, especially when starting a new diet.  Granted, that I’ve actually been trying to  lose weight most of my life.   The last few weeks have been especially interesting as I’ve done the Advocare detox and quickly lost about 10lbs.  Let’s just hope I can keep it off.

The clinic said that I do not appear to have diabetes.  They only did one quick test though I had eaten within about 2 or 3 hours.  They said my blood glucose was normal.

Blood pressure was normal.  I’m not one of those overweight guys that sweats a lot just from standing and breathing.  However, waist was a whopping 76 and the body mass index was off the charts.

I was very suprised that my blood circulation was above normal. The ankle-brachial index showed above normal results for the right and left side.  They checked the arms and the legs.  Considering that my left foot and leg feel a little swollen at all times, I naturally assumed I had some type of heart/circulation problem.   The nurses said that it really could be anything.   So I’m wondering now if the aching from my foot being broken a couple of years ago may be causing the swelling.
